This an elegant and functional traditionally sized landing net made with striking woods. 22.5 inches overall, 8 inch handle and a 12.5 x 9 inch hoop.
Have you ever wish you had been more excited over something you were given. A friend's son found a piece of wood in his wood pile and made a special trip to my shop just to give it to me. It really didn't look like much and I didn't show much excitement. I gave a perfunctory thank you and he left. I could see at the time he was a little deflated.
The wood kicked about for several years until in a fit of cleaning, I attacked it with the band saw, I was right there was very little of the burl that was solid enough to use, but pieces that were solid were some of the most beautiful burl I have ever seen. There is a production run of 1 net.
My friend pasted away and I have lost track of the son. I think I should send a big thank-you out to the universe.
All nets have a custom shop made brass eye for attaching the net to your vest or belt. All my nets feature a multi-coat epoxy finish to enhance and protect.
