Back in the saddle and chasing steelhead! Hoping to get to the lath and make some brass eyes.
This unique landing net is about 22.5 inches overall, with a hoop about 9 x 10 inches in size. The slightly smaller hoop for Tenkara style fishing or for streams where a trophy is a 14 inch fish. This net uses a section of an Elk antler tine joined to the walnut hoop, the combined handle is about 13 inches long.
I thought I had done something truly unique when I added a piece of antler to a landing net handle, then I saw a very traditional Tenkara net using an antler tip as a handle cap. Later, I learned that the stag horn was meant to bring good luck to the hunter or fisherman.
I have inset a small bird point, I hope to remind use of our how we are connected in this sport to all of the hunters that have gone before.
With the epoxy finish this net can be used and displayed. This style can be custom ordered in a variety of woods or slightly larger frame. Ghost style net bags are not available for these small nets. Hand made in the USA. All of my fly fishing nets are signed and numbered. All nets have a custom, in shop made, brass eye for attaching the net to your vest or belt.
Also available as a special order with a $100 refundable deposit, and up to a 12 month wait time. I will email you for confirmation of details.
