Medium sized Fly Fishing Net with brown trout inlay

This landing net has a hoop and handle of Birds eye maple with a dark accent strip of walnut.  The handle has a brown trout inlay.  I have been astounded by the variation in appearance of the trout I catch. I draw the outline of a trout directly on the handle,  to best fit the color and grain of the wood. The image is incised into the wood using chisels and small knives then brass wire is hammered into these small lines. The handle is birds eye maple selected so the tones in the wood enhance the inlay. The net measures 24 inches overall, with a hoop measuring about 10 x 12 inches . The handle is about 11.5 inches long. The net is finished with a deep epoxy finish to protect and enhance the wood.  All nets have a custom shop made brass eye for attaching the net to your vest or belt.
