Back home in the shop and on the river. Yes, there was one that got away. But what a story.

Medium Landing Net in Cherry and mixed woods

$335.00

– Sold Out

This net features study in color and grain.   I tried to combined woods that have a red tone for their color but contrasting grain. The 8 inch handle is of curly cherry.  The hoop combines sycamore selected for a honey tone and grain.  It has accent strips of mahogany.

A little story about the hoop, for 20 years GB carried the paper pattern of an old broken landing net he had seen while fishing in the Adirondacks.  During a conversation, he told me the story of this broken trout net and the pattern. This fly fishing net is the result of translating that paper pattern into wood. The elongated hoop is about 14 x 8 inches.

The brass eye is made in my shop using solid brass rod, first milled into a rough shape, then ground to final shape and polished by hand.  A lot of work, but I haven't found any hardware that had the same solid feel and elegance.

This fly fishing net is also available in a variety of woods, handle shapes and hoop sizes. All nets feature a soft nylon catch and release bag but may be fitted with a ghost bag, as a custom option with a slightly larger hoop size.  The net is finished with multiple coats of epoxy. All nets are signed and numbered.
