I wanted to explore another shape of hoop for the Tenkara nets and I liked the look of this combination with a slightly more traditional shape to the hoop. The hoop is 10.5 x 8 inches. (about 32 inch circumference). The slightly longer handle is 11 inches.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGrand Rapids, where I live, has a long tradition of wood working.  It was once known as the Furniture City.  The craft men in these factories would take home the odd cuts and chunks of wood with unusual grain and color.  When I first moved here 45 years ago the estate sales of these craft men had their tools and the wood they had collected over a life time.  Some of those tools and wood now live in my shop.  I use this small stock of wood in some of the nets I create to give it a second life.  The net has a deep epoxy finish that enhances the color and grain of the wood.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe handle is finished with a custom brass eye.  All of my fly fishing nets are signed and numbered.
